We are always being asked questions about our venues and facilities so we’ve compiled the most commonly asked questions here. If you can’t find what you are looking for please get in touch with us for answers to specific questions you may have.

 

General FAQs

What is the address of Melbourne City Conference Centre?

333 Swanston Street, Melbourne (opposite the State Library of Victoria).

Do your facilities have disabled access?

While it depends on the specific facility, most of our rooms and spaces have disabled access. The two exceptions to this are the Chapel and Studio 277 which unfortunately do not have disabled access.

What is the booking process?

The first step is to either fill out an enquiry form or give us a call to discuss your event’s requirements. Once availability is confirmed, an invoice is raised and upon receiving a 50% deposit your booking is secured.

How do I secure a booking?

Upon payment of a deposit.

What are your payment terms?

Within 14 days.

Can I get a discount if I make an ongoing booking?

Yes, we do offer discounts for long-term bookings. Get in touch with us to discuss this further.

Do you provide assistance with our audio-visual needs?

We include an AV Technician for all events as part of our standard service.

Are we allowed alcohol on the premises?

Unfortunately we don’t allow the consumption of alcohol on our premises.

Is there parking at the facilities?

We don’t have parking, but the nearest parking is at QV Parking Complex, one block down from our facilities.

Is there easy public transport?

We are located within a 5 minute walk of Melbourne Central Train Station, and very close to tram lines that run along Swanston and Elizabeth Streets.

 

Auditorium FAQs

Is there disabled access?

Yes, disabled access is via Little Lonsdale Street.

What amenities are included?

Aside from the 700+ seat Auditorium, there are large bathrooms, a small food-serving area, backstage change-rooms, a green room, a cry room and also an AV booth.

What are the AV capabilities?

A main data projector and automatic retractable 4:3 screen, 2 reverse side-projectors with stationary 16:9 screens, extensive sound system, up to 6 cabled microphones, 4 wireless microphones and 3 lapel microphones.

What is the capacity?

700 seats in theatre style.

Is the seating fixed or movable?

All seating in the auditorium is fixed.

What are the sound desk specifications?

We currently have a PreSonus Studio Live 24.4.2 installed.

Do you have onsite parking?

No, the closest parking complex is just one block away, at QV Parking.

What is the size of the stage?

10.3 metres wide by 4 metres deep.

Where is the best place to drop off equipment?

We have a loading bay located on Knox Lane, off Little Lonsdale Street.

What existing lighting do you have on stage?

We have 6 franels and 14 can lights which can be manually controlled via a lighting desk located in the AV Booth.

Do you have a roving spotlight?

No, but you’re welcome to hire one externally and bring it in for your event.

Can we bring in our own sound system?

Yes, you are welcome to bring in your own sound system, provided you have someone that is familiar with it and able to get it set into our system.

Where is the main entrance?

The main entrance is located directly off Swanston Street (333 Swanston St) via the double sliding glass doors.

 

Chapel FAQs

Is there disabled access?

Unfortunately there is no disabled access to the Chapel.

What amenities are included?

Bathrooms, located below the chapel in Price Hall.

What are the AV capabilities?

A data projector and screen, up to 4 handheld microphones, and a sound system.

What is the capacity?

Up to 180 seats in theatre style.

Do you have a raised stage?

Yes, we have a raised stage that is 7 metres wide by 5.5 metres deep.

Can I hire the Chapel out for my wedding?

Yes, we allow the Chapel to be hired out for external weddings.

Who can get married in the Chapel?

We are quite flexible in who can use the Chapel for weddings, you don’t need to be associated with CrossCulture Church of Christ. All applications are, however, subject to the approval of a Pastor of CrossCulture.

Can I bring an external celebrant?

Yes, once approval of the wedding is granted, you may bring an external celebrant.

What is the wedding hire process?

The first step is to either fill out an enquiry form or give us a call to discuss your specific requirements and dates of interest. Once availability is confirmed and your application is approved by a Pastor, an invoice is raised and upon receiving a deposit your booking is secured.

Do you have special wedding packages?

We have white chair covers and ivory sashes that can be setup at a small additional cost. Speak to one of our friendly coordinators for more details.

Where is the entrance?

The main entrance is located directly off Swanston Street (333 Swanston St) via big red doors next to the double sliding glass doors.

Can we have food and drink in the Chapel?

Unfortunately due to the Chapel being a heritage-listed building by the Melbourne Council we don’t allow food and drink in this venue. We do however allow food and drink in Chapel Hall, located directly below the Chapel.

 

Chapel Hall FAQs

Is there disabled access?

Yes, disabled access is via Little Lonsdale Street.

What amenities are included?

A fully functional commercial kitchen and both regular and disabled bathrooms.

What are the AV capabilities?

A data projector and two retractable screens, up to 4 handheld microphones and sound system.

What is the capacity?

Up to 100 seats in theatre style.

Can I bring in extra sound equipment?

Yes, you are welcome to bring any additional AV equipment you would require.

Is the kitchen included in the hire?

Yes, you have access to the fully-functional commercial kitchen.

Where is the main entrance?

The main entrance is located directly off Swanston Street (333 Swanston St) via the double sliding glass doors.

 

Studio 277 FAQs

Is there disabled access?

Unfortunately there is no disabled access to Studio 277.

What amenities are included?

There is a built-in kitchen, bathroom and 2 office spaces.

What are the AV capabilities?

A data projector and retractable screen, up to 2 handheld microphones and a two-speaker sound system.

What is the capacity?

Up to 40 seats in theatre style.

Where is this facility located?

1st Floor, No 277, Little Lonsdale Street.

 

Price Hall FAQs

Is there disabled access?

Yes, disabled access is via Little Lonsdale Street.

What amenities are included?

There is a height-sized floor to window mirror mounted across one wall, a built-in kitchen and male and female bathrooms.

What is the capacity?

Dance/Fitness classes up to 15-20 or 30 seats in theatre style.

What are the AV capabilities?

A data projector and screen.
